We take for granted being able to enjoy dinner around a dining table, when families like the Salace family, have never had the opportunity or the means. Brennan and Joe Salace have been married 6 years. They have 5 kids, 4 boys (ages 4,5,6,7) and one girl (age 12).
Bre found refuge at the East County Transitional Living Center (ECTLC) in order to escape a physically abusive relationship and years of drug and alcohol use. Pregnant with her second child, she and her daughter were welcomed into the ECTLC family and were able to find a safe place to get help and start over.
Shortly after Bre's arrival, she met and fell in love with Joe. Joe was sent to ECTLC because he was heavily formally involved in a gang where he faced drug addiction, homelessness and violence on the streets of San Diego. They have lived at the ECTLC for 6 years. Bre takes care of the kids while Joe works full time, running human resources for a concession stand over at PETCO park.
Despite this family's struggle, they have received help overcoming their addictions, received transformational healing both mentally and spiritually, but most importantly, they were given hope for a better future.
Because they have lived at ECTLC and it has provided everything they have ever needed, they have but a few clothes and toys. They move into their first home June 1st 2015 and we will not only be able to give them a dining table, but with your help, we will be able to make their first house a home.
